Electric Fuchsia, High-Key Beauty Photography
This beauty session is an exercise in high-end minimalism. Set against a seamless, pure white background, the objective was to create a striking visual impact using only two focal points: a precise fuchsia graphic liner and an effortlessly textured hairstyle. This project demonstrates how a stripped-back, high-key aesthetic can amplify bold, modern art direction.
In collaboration with makeup artist Joana Martins, we focused on a minimalist yet sharp fuchsia graphic liner. The precision of the application serves as the anchor of the image, offering a vibrant pop of color within the high-key space.
To balance this sharp geometry, hair stylist Yana Skoroda created an effortless Textured High Bun. The intentionally relaxed nature of the hair adds a human softness to the otherwise clinical and precise composition.
The lighting was designed to achieve a "perfect skin" finish. I overexposed the background to a pure white while carefully sculpting the light on the face to visually smooth the skin. By utilizing a soft main light paired with an under-lighting technique, I filled in shadows and smoothed textures, as well as creating an intentional catchlight in Lara's eyes. This setup allowed for specific highlights, giving the skin a healthy, luminous glow that elevated the overall minimalist aesthetic.
